the start of PinkAlien
The founder, Yusuf, was born & raised on the island of Bahrain, a country that many people do not know exists, and in case you are wondering about its size, it is smaller than Berlin, or San Diego.
His love for food was from a young age he even reached to 83 KG at 14 years old. Fortunately, Yusuf found his way toward a healthy lifestyle by joining "Insanity" Fitness Program. Until today Yusuf appreciates both food and fitness.
Yusuf got a Bachelor is in Logistics but he never ended up working in this field, but instead shifted to his first love, the Camera. He self-taught himself on how to be a professional content creator.
Over the years, his addiction to travel only grew and by the age of 29 he already lived & worked in Turkey, USA, China, Morocco, Thailand, and Bali.
In 2017, he worked as a freelancer photographer in Bangkok, and was approached by a food tour company to take photos of their tour. This was the first time he stumbled upon the world of food tours.
The Idea of a walking food tour kept lingering in Yusuf's mind for years as it has both the Fitness & Food elements. So with his expertise in content creation, he established the first Walking Food Tour company in Bahrain in 2019 but as a side business only, which was to his luck as he wasn't affected by COVID when it Hit.
During COVID he continued to create content & managed to travel and collaborate with the biggest creators all around the Middle East, that made him gain enormous experience in Social Media.
In 2022, as the world re-opened its doors for travel, Yusuf quit his full-time to focus on this food tour, he even did a full re-brand to PINKALIEN FOOD TOURS, and has opened in his second location, Bali, where he currently lives.

Why the name "Pinkalien" ?

Did you know the Pink is the Oldest color in the world? Surprising, is it?
But how did we end up with this curious tale of ... PINK for women , BLUE for Men
Well, historically pink was even a masculine color, but only post-WW2, the media and textile industries started to use colors to seperate femininity & masculinity in order to increase their sales by profiting from selling different items for women and for men.
This intriguing history inspired the founder of PinkAlien to choose pink, not just as a color but as a symbol.
A unique reminder that we should not be quick to judge but always strive to explore and remain curious.
This philosophy aligns seamlessly with what Food Tours represent
– an invitation to explore more (Travel), judge less (Learn), and feed your curiosity & bellies (Eat).

As both a self-reminder and an expression of gratitude, for each meal served in our tour, we give a meal to those in need.
Additionally, any surplus food is available for you to take home or, if still suitable, is shared with those less fortunate or offered to support street-dwelling animals."
